1338 North Capitol, Washington, DC

This complete remodeling project was challenging and extremely rewarding.

The 1338 North Capitol location is an approximately 100 year old building located a few blocks from the US Capitol and Historic Union Station. The new ATF headquarters is located across the street. To optimize the value of the building the scope of the project involved, it was necessary to add a top floor a full basement underneath the existing old structure. This has yielded a net increase of 37% in usable square footage to the building. To enhance the access and maximize the space utilization, the building’s main entrance was reoriented to the North side of the building. This has improved the circulation immensely and provided the building with a fresh look.

A roof top terrace was added to provide direct view of the Capitol Building. Other features include a secure outdoor sitting area, private parking spaces, installation of energy efficient heating and cooling systems, commercial grade elevator, state-of the-art security system, telephone, data, high-speed communication features etc.
